Enjoyment per dollar

So I went to New York for the long weekend, and it was a very nice experience for my first visit. It was quite fun especially to go with 3 of my closer friends, and we had a great time hanging out! I took two extra days off, so that was very good too!

One thing I noticed is that you can spend a good amount of money to get something very nice, but you can also spend a lot less money, and get something decently nice. For example:

Entertainment

$$$
For $91 (already with discount), we went to watch the show "Jersey Boys" in Broadway. The show was quite good and enjoyable. It was 2 hours of filled with solid entertainment and great music.

$
For $16 we went for a 1-hour tour in United Nations (UN) headquarters. It was one of the top events for me personally because we got to see the Security Assembly, the General Assembly, and we got to be educated in how UN operates and what are the main areas of international development that they focused on.

Goods

$$$
In Times Square, there is a M&M World store, and probably it was the place that all of us spend the much amount of money haha. The M&M chocolates were like $13.99 a pound (I bought 2.3 pounds to share with my house and cell group) and bought a mug too. It is a interesting store.

$
I went to Redeemer Presbyterian Church for service, and it was pretty good preaching though Tim Keller was not there. But after service, we went to the library and Keller's book was 40% off, and I got the Prodigal God which was like $12. I read half of it on my bus ride back from Mississauga to Waterloo, and it is a great explanation about the Parable of the prodigal son. And I really enjoyed it a lot as it speaks tons of truth regarding the sinfulness of men, and glorious grace of God.

Food

$$$
For our last dinner, we went to a Asian fusion place called Momofuku and we had a nice meal with appetizers, main course (ramen), and sake. It was good, but pricey as we each paid $33.

$
We were in Chinatown, and I had beef brisket + wonton noodle for $7. It was one of the best beef brisket I ever had. Nothing beat Chinese food. It's so good that I didn't have time to take a picture.

So yeah, think about how we spend money.
